I'm in film school, which specializes in publishing. I love it, but more than that I am passionate about screenwriting. I chose this question because the job prospects for scripts. I thought: "I can always screenwriter. No need to graduate school for that." Perhaps the same argument could be made to go for processing. Is it so wrong to think the main script? Employment prospects change, if bad? Is it a time and money?

You're right, you can write a script. And no school or university is required, just imagination, a thick skin and the inability to take no for an answer.
Moreover, a good editor should be some chops (and the ability to George Lucas on the back of the head have every time he tries to hit the switch to another piece of rubbish!). Stick with the publication in order to pay bills and write scripts to build your retirement.
Remember: Any fool can be a writer.
I think the process is very similar, screenplay, which you are using a series of pictures to tell a story. They say that tells the story of the last process of editing a film is (unless George Lucas).
